EsD Floor Paint for Static Control Flooring
ElectraGuard Epoxy Based ESD Floor Paint
New
Simply calling ElectraGuard an ESD floor paint doesn't do this product justice! ElectraGuard is an advanced co acrylate-polymeric epoxy based floor coating and sealer. Originally manufactured for Mission Critical static protection in DOD munitions applications (and believe me munitions plants respect ESD;). In most applications, ElectraGuard will provide more conductivity than esd conductive vinyl tiles, esd rubber flooring, esd carpet and the thick set epoxy's for a faster, more complete charge decay. ElectraGuard provides outstanding esthetics and, it's thin set qualities make application and floor prep EASY and FAST. ElectraGuard provides superior VALUE at an installed cost 300% less than the cheapest esd vinyl, 400% less than esd carpet and a whopping 600% less than esd rubber flooring (and unlike esd rubber floors you CAN drive forklifts over it;) It's warranted for lifetime conductivity and it's high compressive strength allows the product ultimate load carrying capabilities unrivaled by esd tile and rubber flooring. Go ahead, roll on it with a forklift or pallet jack, park a wave soldering machine on top of it! If it ever does scratch it's easily reparable. ElectraGuard is made in a non conductive formulation too, PERFECT for maintaining the high tech look of your esd area in adjacent areas that may not need esd protection.
Tougher than Nails, Long Lasting and Highly ESD Conductive!
Easy preparation and installation, for use on a multitude of substrates!
ElectraGuard is designed for application over concrete, standard VCT tile, antistatic esd vinyl tiles and sheet goods, thick set epoxy flooring, existing non performing esd vinyl floors, raised access flooring panels and even walls. ElectraGuard typically falls in the static conductive range of <3.5E07 resistance per EOS ESD S 2020-2007 97.1 (combination resistance of technician / heel straps and flooring) the most stringent electrical recommendations for esd currently in place.
No seams for reduced dirt entrapment, EASY to maintain!
Application: New concrete floors should be allowed to cure for thirty days. Applications to floors colder than 60 0 F is not recommended. Sweep and vacuum substrate. If contaminated mop with a neutral degreaser to remove oil, grease and soil. Check adhesion (see notes), if required etch with standard concrete etching acid diluted per manufacturers recommendations, thoroughly rinse with water and allow to dry overnight. If floor has been previously coated, a small area should be cleaned and roughed up by a screen disking with a 80 grit screen. Test ElectraGuard for adhesion, lifting etc. Any area's of the existing coating which display poor adhesion should be stripped. Wash the stripped area's, acid etch, and rinse thoroughly. Allow the floor to dry. Catalyzed ElectraGuard should be used within six hours of mixing, therefore prepare only the quantity necessary for immediate use. Add the pre-measured catalyst to epoxy base. Stir gently until the catalyst has been thoroughly mixed in. Allow catalyzed mixture to stand 5 minutes. Apply catalyzed material with a short nap (3/8" or 1/4") roller in thin uniform coats. The initial coat will cover approximately 250 to 500 ft 2 per gallon. Second coat coverage is approximately 400 to 600 ft 2 per gallon . Note: This product is not recommended for applications that experience reoccurring standing water. United ESD recommends the use of soft chair casters when rolling chairs directly on this product. Soft chair casters look like standard hard casters but have a rubberized coating on the wheel. ElectraGuard ESD Epoxy is a thin set epoxy (approximately 3 to 10 mil thickness), much tougher and longer lasting that ESD non epoxy paints. Due to it's reduced solids count and thin set benefits ElectraGuard may exhibit slight variances in texture and color dependant on the substrate of application. These variances do not affect the excellent electrical performance or wear characteristics. This product is available in medium gray, light gray tan and beigeand features a non glare finish. The material may be polished to a high shine and gloss by coating cured epoxy (3 to 6 days old) with top coats of our ElectraGlaze ESD Floor Finish. As applied ElectraGlaze will provide a high gloss, slip resistant, non-porous finish. ElectraGlaze may be high speed polished for an ultimate mirror like gloss via use of Champaign colored pad and 1100 rpm buffing equipment. Make sure to not burn coating by moving equipment briskly and occasionally spraying pad with 50/50 mixture of Glaze and clean water. Useful installation notes.
